The Bailliage’s Gala Induction evening was held at the Rihga Royal Hotel in Osaka. It was the first event of the year for the members and their guests. We were very pleased to welcome guest of honour Shohei Isawa, Bailli Provincial of Tohoku.

The Induction Ceremony was presided over by Bailli Délégué Koji Fukuda. Afterwards, the ceremony for the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD) was presided over by Échanson Masaharu Oka.

We were honoured to induct 40 members of which 30 were new OMGD members with seven new Chaîne members and three members were promoted to a higher grade.

This was the first OMGD event ever held by our Bailliage. It brought a combined total of 80 members inducted into the OMGD for the Kanto, Kansai and Sendai Provincial Bailliages in 2020.

At the AGM, Takeshi Kadokami, Bailli Provincial of Kansai, reported on 2019’s activities and outlined the overall programme for 2020 which was enthusiastically approved by the 73 attendees.

Our Conseiller Culinaire Provincial, Masatoshi Ota, who is the Executive Chef of the historic 80-year old Rihga Royal Hotel Osaka, prepared a delicious feast.

We enjoyed a delightful evening celebrating. The camaraderie which makes Chaîne events so special was particularly so with all the new OMGD members who made this event particularly memorable.
