Food for thought and a healthy life
" The workshop Guy created for our on-line meeting was how we can continue to protect ourselves from COVID-19 "

One of the last virtual “Apéros du dimanche” successfully held these past weeks for Bailliage members during the lockdown was with Chevalier Guy Vandebossche owner of Optimalé, a multi-disciplinary health centre in De Pinte (Ghent Deinze region).

Optimalé offers its clients a total package of therapies and health services under one roof. From classic physiotherapy and complementary therapies to personal training, Optimalé takes a holistic approach, physically and psychologically, emotional and energetic.

Key elements of the services offered by Optimalé are a preventive health check and stress management for CEOs and business people.

A qualified fascia therapist* and sports physiotherapist, Guy Vandenbossche is an expert not only in fascia therapy, but also in sport performance, sports screening and providing an overall “Total Health Concept”. He has worked as the physiotherapist for various football clubs and has an active interest in golf and biomechanics.

[*Ed. Myofascial therapy is a type of safe, low load stretch that releases tightness and pain throughout the body caused by myofascial pain syndrome, which describes chronic muscle pain that is worse in certain areas known as trigger points.]

From a scientific basis, from innovative complementary insights and continuous further training, Guy and his team of therapists at Optimalé bring the right manual approach, the right manual touch to bring the health of their clients back into harmony.

The 10 minute workshop Guy created for our on-line meeting was how we can continue to protect ourselves from COVID-19 by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and being in harmony with life.

Some of his dietary recommendations being:
1. Make sure you have healthy intestines.
2. Eliminate sugar, wheat and dairy from your menu.
3. Make sure that your plate consists of 70% of organic vegetables.
4. Eat fruits high in anti-oxidants.
5. Eat wholesome grains, seeds and beans.
6. Include the daily menu something from the sea: fish, sea-vegetables, seaweed.
7. Choose good fats: olive oil, avocado, poultry.
8. Do not overdo the alcohol consumption.
9. Have warm drinks.

Certainly it was food for thought if you will excuse the pun!
