Muthaiga Country Club played host to the Bailliage of Nairobi’s World Chaîne Day celebrations. The “three in one day” affair kicked off with our Annual General Meeting followed by the Induction Ceremony and crowned with a sumptuous informal buffet barbecue.

Bailli Délégué Shabnam Nayer, in her capacity as a Member of the Conseil Magistral, officiated over the induction of nine new members and the promotion of six members. She was ably assisted by Gurdeep Nayer (Bailli Honoraire of Mombasa) and Sonal Sejpal who was our very eloquent Master of Ceremonies.

Victor Gitobu, having stood down as Bailli of Nairobi, received his Honoraire badge. Ashe Ahluwalia was inducted as Bailli to replace him. Other Bailliage officers were promoted. Vice-Chargé de Missions Mebs Tejpar received the Chaîne Bronze Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment and service to the Bailliage.

After the ceremony old friends reconnected and new friendships were forged as everyone enjoyed canapes and Bosco dei Cirimioli Prosecco on the beautiful green “Chairman’s lawn”.

Executive Chef Macharia and his team did their utmost by laying out a tantalizing spread of dishes. We enjoyed the delicious meal accompanied by a premium selection of wines which were generously provided by Kysa Ltd, The Wine Shop and Enoteca to whom we are most grateful.

Several of our guests showed interest in becoming members of Chaîne which was a testament to the quality of the event. We are so pleased to see our numbers growing at a steady pace.
