Bailliage members and their guests celebrated World Chaine Day at Paolos Alberto Restaurant.

The family-run Paolos Seehotel Mardorf with its Alberto Restaurant lies on the shores of Steinhuder Meer, a lake 30kms from Hanover.

Not only the surroundings and the table decorations followed the World Chaîne Day theme of “Green in all its forms”, it was also represented in the menu.

Among other things, there was avocado-salmon tartare on a seaweed salad with caviar topping and wild garlic cream cheese with a prawn skewer.

Neither the kitchen team, led by our Vice-Conseiller Culinaire Paolo Bragagna, nor the service brigade were “green behind the ears”. The exquisite menu and the superior service left a lasting impression.

But neither did we guests have to be asked to “go green”. We rummaged through our wardrobes and everyone was able to contribute a more or less green piece of clothing or accessory.

It was a welcome change to follow such a theme and a very successful start for our Confrère Paolo in his new restaurant on the Steinhuder Meer. Good luck to him and here’s wishing him many more satisfied guests!
