Poland Chapitre

Bailliage of Poland
Warsaw, February 8, 2023

At the Residence of the French Ambassador
" Chef Philippe Le Félic replicated the dinner served to President Emmanuel Macron "

At the invitation of His Excellency Frédéric Billet, Ambassador of France to Poland, the Bailliage held its Chapitre in his residence in Warsaw. We are grateful for those unforgettable moments in an elegant, warm atmosphere.

Chef Philippe Le Félic replicated the dinner served to President Emmanuel Macron during his State visit to Poland.

Our guests were Jacek Cygan (poet and song writer), Rafał Wieczyński and Julita Świercz-Wieczyńska (Director and Producer of the film on Jerzy Popiełuszko - the Polish Roman Catholic priest recognized as a martyr and beatified in 2010), Tomasz Gutry (celebrated Solidarity photojournalist) and Chris Schittulli (tenor).

At the Induction Ceremony 30 members were inducted or promoted, including Zofia Drohomirecka - the coffee maestro of Poland - as a Maître Restaurateur and Iwona Niemczewska as our Conseiller Culinaire. Originally a lawyer, Iwona quit the Bar to fire up the stove. She subsequently became the talented Vice-Chair of the Poland Chef’s Club. Additionally, Pawel Gąsiorek, who introduced the culture of wine in our country, was elevated to the post of Échanson.

Our Chapitre was placed under the patronage of Ukraine and gastronomy. Whether it is the diplomats who created gastronomy or the gastronomes who created diplomacy, both have the duty to make peace and share benefits. And this is not pointless, it is realistic.

We hope the tragic war in Ukraine will soon come to a peaceful end. Having raised more than 2500 euro at our Chapitre we are adhering to the Ambassador’s wish to split this amount in two equal parts. One to support Ukraine. The second to organize a Young Polish Chefs Competition. We are looking for more sponsors.

Vive la Chaîne!
