Nestled in the Lebanese mountains the story of the establishment began in 1986, when a beautiful 200-year-old Lebanese house became the owners’ family home. Over the course of nearly four decades, it has witnessed several restorations, providing for milestones of joy and countless memories.

It now houses an original art collection from various cultures and regions spanning the Middle East to East and Southeast Asia: artifacts, sculptures, and exclusive artworks have found their way to this beautiful house, adding to its distinctive character as a meeting place of civilizations and religions.

Today it has been transformed into a guesthouse: Indira - a name meaning “splendid” in Sanskrit. Here, guests find the comfort and tranquility they seek within a welcoming atmosphere, attentive service and delicious cuisine.

Where better therefore for the Bailliage to celebrate World Chaîne Day. It was a wonderful occasion with members and guests enjoying a magnificent lunch accompanied by excellent wines from the Batroun Mountains Organic Winery.

Batroun Mountains is a family owned and operated winery dedicated to crafting wines that reflect the values of the Hark family. The vineyards are located in the mountains of Batroun District in six different towns at altitudes from 400 to 1500 metres above sea level. Each element of the landscape adds personality to the bottle of wine. When opening one there is the taste and smell of the cool mountains, the secrets of the hillside, the struggle of the vine, a neighbouring olive branch and the faintest hint of sea below. Each bottle tells a story.
