On Sunday, April 23rd at 5.30pm the Bailliage held a DOUBLE celebration!

Not only did we join our friends from around the world to celebrate World Chaîne Day (WCD), but at the same time we celebrated the life and recipes of Julia Child, the famous chef with a dinner in her honour.

At the Table restaurant in Wayne, Pennsylvania (Winner of our 2020 Dinner of the Year Award) served her most iconic dishes: French onion soup, Boeuf bourguignon, Tarte Tatin.
We asked husband-wife duo Chef Tara and Chef Alex to use these recipes as inspiration. Not to duplicate them, but to make a modern version of each.

Our all-French meal was paired with an all-French wine list! We drank Gewürztraminer from Alsace, an uncommon white Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the Southern Rhone together with an Aligoté and a Pinot Noir both from Burgundy. We finished the night with an amazing 20-year-old Calvados!
