Born in 1963, Hubertus Schultz has lived his vocation that of cooking with incomparable passion for more than 45 years. A certified Master Chef and graduate in Hotel Management, Hubertus looks back on an impressive career that has taken him to renowned fine dining establishments across Europe. From an early stage, national and international culinary exhibitions shaped his creative skills - both as a chef and as a team leader.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he was awarded a very special honour in 1989: the Gold Medal of Honour of the City of Le Touquet (France) - a unique event at the time. This Diplôme d’Honneur remains one of his greatest personal distinctions to this day.

Maître Hôtelier Hubertus Schultz has decades of experience in managing international hotel and gastronomy operations. As General Manager, Hotel Director, Hotel Operations Manager, Product and Concept Developer, as well as Operations Manager, he has played a key role in shaping successful corporate strategies and innovative culinary concepts.

For more than 24 years, Hubertus has run his own Cooking and BBQ School, where he not only trains aspiring chefs but has also successfully guided 14 candidates to achieve the prestigious Master Chef title. In 2020, he was honoured as Trainer of the Year, an award of which he is particularly proud. He represents the fourth generation of chefs in his family, embodying cooking as a true passion.

Since 2007, Hubertus has managed Schlosshotel Gedern and Villa Geriwada in Gedern together with his wife Ute. Both establishments combine hospitality, style, and culinary refinement at the highest level.

At the end of 2027, Hubertus plans to withdraw from active business operations to dedicate more of his time to fostering the next generation of culinary talent - both nationally and internationally. He is especially committed to supporting young talent in Costa Rica.

His credo: “It is not about making the impossible possible - but about making the simple into something special.”
