Boston celebrates 60 years of gastronomy and fellowship

" The anniversary provides an opportunity to honour those who built the Bailliage, celebrate its current members and look ahead to the future "

Sixty years is a major milestone, a milestone worth savouring! Thus, a magnificent dinner event at Urban Hearth continued our year-long anniversary celebration.

On August 25, 2026, the Bailliage of Boston gathered at the newly opened Urban Hearth location in Inman Square, Cambridge, to continue our year-long 60th anniversary celebration. The exceptional dinner prepared by Chef Erin Miller with carefully selected wines, and the fellowship of fellow Chaîne members provided an evening fitting the celebratory theme of our important anniversary year.

Urban Hearth was a particularly appropriate choice as celebrated Chef/Owner Erin Miller has established herself as one of New England’s most creative and accomplished chefs. Chef Miller’s cuisine combines a deep appreciation for seasonal New England ingredients with influences from around the world. Among her many accolades, she was a 2025 James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef: Northeast and Urban Hearth and received recognition from the Michelin Guide. The new Inman Square location is an exquisite jewel with several seating areas and a seasonal outdoor patio.

The evening began with a casual reception featuring a welcome toast of Sophie Schaal Crémant d’Alsace. Upon seating we were treated to a summer squash panna cotta with roasted peach, puffed wild rice and smoked paprika amusé and Chef Miller’s acclaimed buttermilk biscuits with maple butter.

The first course featured watermelon and yellowfin tuna tartare, amaranth leaf and crispy shallots, paired with a 2025 Astobiza Txakoli Blanco from Spain’s Basque Country.

Next followed an heirloom tomato with stracciatella, roasted pepper coulis, oregano and coriander pepita praline followed, matched with a 2024 Montenidoli Rosato from Umbria.

The seafood course showcased black bass torchon with fish-skin cracklin, summer succotash with lamb bacon and peanuts, and brown-butter corn sauce, accompanied by a 2024 Martha Stoumen Chardonnay from Mendocino.

The main roast course was koji-marinated duck breast with duck-fat cabbage, blueberry mostarda, wild mushrooms and sauce au poivre, complemented by a 2022 Domaine Arnoux Savigny-lès-Beaune Pinot Noir from Burgundy.

Dessert of a sheep’s milk yogurt parfait with blackberry, wood sorrel sorbet and espresso cocoa nibs was followed by a cheese board and Domaine Huet Vouvray Dessert Wine.

Beyond the memorable food and wine, the evening celebrated something even more important: 60 years of friendship, fellowship and a shared passion for gastronomy.

Generations of Bailliage of Boston members have joyfully gathered around tables, celebrating culinary excellence and the chefs, vintners, restaurateurs and hospitality professionals who make exceptional dining experiences possible.

Because 60 years deserve more than a single dinner, the Bailliage will continue celebrating this milestone throughout the coming year for all of our events. The anniversary provides an opportunity to honour those who built the Bailliage, celebrate its current members and look ahead to the future.

The dinner at Urban Hearth was more than the beginning of an anniversary. It was a reminder of what has kept the Chaîne vibrant for six decades: great food, fine wine, hospitality, friendship, and fellowship.

Here’s to 60 years of the Bailliage of Boston - and to an entire year of celebration.

Vive la Chaîne!
