World Chaîne Day Photo Competition

June 16, 2021

Vietnam and USA provide the best photos!
" heartfelt congratulations to the winners and indeed a big 'thank you' to everyone who participated "

The Judging Panel reviewed thousands of photos - even more than in previous years. The high standard of contributions made it really hard to choose the winners.

In the end, three photos were selected to be the winner and two equal runners-up in each category: Best Photo and Best Egg Photo. [Ed. Please see the separate articles for each category]

The winning photographers will each receive a Diploma. These will be presented during the forthcoming International Grand Chapitre & AGM in Lyon in November, or will be mailed if necessary.

Of particular note were photos featuring ribbons, a Professional’s plaque, the Chaîne emblem or the World Chaîne Day logo. After all it is these symbols which are important for us all. Wearing or displaying them identifies us all as Chaîne members around the world, especially important in this second year in which our normal activities remained curtailed for the World Chaîne Day weekend in many parts of the world.

The Judges wished to emphasise this by focusing on such photos in the selection. All the while we were looking for happy feelings during the uncertain times as a result of the pandemic, good food pictures (especially those featuring egg - the theme of World Chaîne Day 2021) and an innovative use of the logo.

As in 2020 the Judges appreciated the evident importance of Chaîne membership to all participants on World Chaîne Day. The Confrérie is clearly not just about formal dinners and fine dining. Camaraderie and friendship around a common subject are equally important. And ribbons are carried not as a duty or obligation, but with much pride.

On behalf of the Committee and Judges I express heartfelt congratulations to the winners and indeed say a big “thank you” to everyone who participated in this year's competition! World Chaîne Day goes from strength to strength as a result of your ongoing enthusiasm.
