Fully booked with 18 people in attendance! What a night! Lots of people embraced the pirate theme, dressing the part to perfection. Great food and service from Chef Jonathan and the Boathouse team.

Alicia did an excellent job sourcing nine Caribbean rums. Unexpectedly we toasted Jamaican Independence Day which was on the very day of our event. Alicia cooked a Jamaican Rum cake and created a special bookmark as a takeaway.

We were pleased to welcome several interesting guests:
- Niiki Bailtrop: a Chaîne member from Myanmar who may transfer to Phuket
- Frederik Haentjens: a Chaîne member from Dubai and partner Edna Abraham
- Tatiana Fernandez Garcia: representing IWS and sponsored some of our rums
- Peter Jones: from Chilli Blue Wines and President of SOB Wine Group

This event also resulted in seven new Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD) members and two new Chaîne members. A great result!

As an aside, members Bob and Ann Gaussen are heading off to Hungary shortly to attend the International Grand Chapitre. It sounds like a great trip.
