As part of a double celebration in the Bailliage of Lahti, the 10th anniversary of World Chaîne Day was firstly celebrated on the Market Square. Despite the chilly weather, a large audience gathered around the several stalls. The city folk had all come to learn about the work of Chaîne and experience how food connects across borders and cultures.
Warm thanks went to everyone who participated in the event and special thanks were given to the Chaîne member restaurants: Roux, Taivaanranta and Seurahuoneen Hämesali, as well as Bailliage partners Salpausselkän Kala, Liha Meronen and Lihakauppa A.O. Vuorinen.

The menu commenced with nettle soup accompanied by Soave from Italy (much better quality and taste than when we were young!). Yogurt, cheese, marinated egg yolk and a cup made of Parmesan for the asparagus was an interesting, creative next course.
The Spanish red wine (Bobos from Finca Casa La Borracha) enjoyed with the steak was a nice and positive surprise. The passion fruit panna cotta for dessert was fresh and tasty.
In addition to the good food and service, there was a nice, cosy atmosphere making for a perfect conclusion to the World Chaîne Day celebrations in the Bailliage.
