The Bailliage’s members of the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD) and their guests were invited to The Barrel Wine Shop in Da Nang to enjoy a wine and canapés event for the Chaîne’s “liquid” offshoot.

Those who attended were able to enjoy five wines from Australia’s underrated Orange wine region paired with delicious canapes from Mumtaz Indian Restaurant one of the event’s sponsors.

Orange is located west of Sydney in New South Wales. It has a wide range of elevation (between 376 to 1390m above sea level) which greatly affects the climate. Overall, mild to warm mean temperatures are offset by cool nights during the growing season. Grape vines were first planted commercially in 1980.

It was a most enjoyable evening! While the venue and catering were critical elements of the event, it was the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of the OMGD that made for such a resounding success, bringing together a community of professionals and amateurs who share a passion for the world of wine and spirits.
