Members and guests, led by Bailli Catarina Alvares, celebrated World Chaîne Day at Gadanha - Mercearia & Restaurante in Estremoz.

Also notable by their presence were Bailli Délégué Paulo Amado and Bailli Honoraire Dinis Zabumba.

Located in the district of Évora, Estremoz is one of the “white cities” in the Alentejo. You can recognise it from far away for its white houses, spread across a hill. The area around the city has been inhabited since pre-historic times. There are remnants of Roman, Visigoth and Muslim occupations.

Gadanha is a unique space in Estremoz, where you will find the best products. There you can revel in the world of flavours, an unforgettable delight in discovering the best of Alentejo cuisine!

Chef Michele Marques takes her work with joy, has a young team by her side and together they learn to evolve and try to improve every day, always with fresh, local products and lots of smiles in the mix. Her business partner, Mario Vieira, is the establishment’s Sommelier. It was his idea to develop the mercearia (grocery) side of the operation.
