Maître Rôtisseur Félix Bechtolf, a “young Chaîne member who is proprietor of the establishment which bears his name, proudly says “At Restaurant Félix you can expect two things: a changing selection of classic French bistro dishes à la carte and fine French-inspired culinary craftsmanship. A menu without unnecessary fuss, but with a very personal twist. We always use only the best products, and together with our local suppliers, we strive to be sustainable.”
Félix trained under Chef Thomas Martin at “Jacob’s Restaurant” located in Hamburg’s Hotel Louis C. Jacob. Thomas Martin’s simple cuisine at the highest level in combination with Hanseatic serenity provided a solid foundation for Félix. He then perfected his style in top French establishments and in 2023 fulfilled his dream of opening his own restaurant.
Curious to find out whether what they had heard was true, members of the Bailliage of Hamburg dined at Restaurant Félix on September 17th.
On a beautiful late-summer evening in the restaurant’s enchanting garden, everyone was personally welcomed by Félix Bechtolf. Then, in the words of one member, a “fireworks display” of culinary talent began from this young and gifted chef. The three kinds of finger foods alone promised an exquisite menu. All four courses were of outstanding quality, perfectly complemented by carefully selected wines and sparkling wine from the “Prinzen von Hessen”.
It was a high-level gourmet experience proving for certain that what had been heard was indeed reality.
