On June 14, 2024, Bailliage of Korea members had the rare opportunity to discover the delightful food and beverages of Denmark, 8,000 km away from Copenhagen.

The event was hosted by His Excellency Svend Olling, the Ambassador of Denmark, at the Danish Residence in Seoul.

When it came to recollecting their favourite Chaîne event in 2024, members overwhelmingly selected this dinner hosted by His Excellency, who is a Chevalier d’Honneur.

The snow crab from Greenland, salmon from the Faroe Islands and the Ambassador’s grandmother’s recipe for apple cake unmistakably made a lasting impression, but perhaps what moved members the most was the Ambassador’s deep passion and personal presentation of the wines and spirits that were delightful and inspirational.

To acknowledge being selected as the favourite event of 2024, a plaque was scheduled to be presented to HE Ambassador Olling at a Bailliage dinner on November 22, 2024 at the Hotel Naru MGallery, but unfortunately he was unable to attend due to a previous engagement.

It was therefore presented to him by our Bailli Delegue Roland Hinni, and our then Chargé de Presse Andrew Jihyung Kim, in a small ceremony held at Restaurant La Suisse in Seoul on December 29, 2024.

Our heartfelt congratulations go to His Excellency Svend Olling. Thank you for a memorable event and your warm camaraderie.
