The annual Chapitre in Rovaniemi was held in the stunning setting of Lapland Hotels Sky Ounasvaara, perched on the edge of the Arctic wilderness with panoramic views over the treetops. This remarkable venue, owned by Officier Maître Hôtelier Pertti Yliniemi, offered a warm and refined atmosphere for a truly memorable occasion.

The highlight of the event was the Induction Ceremony, conducted with the dignity and tradition that are hallmarks of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. Nineteen new and promoted members were honoured with their ribbons in a formal yet festive manner, underscoring the camaraderie and excellence that bind the Chaîne community.

In addition, 14 members joined the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD), demonstrating the continued growth and enthusiasm for wine and spirit appreciation within the National Bailliage.

In conjunction with the Chapitre, the 2025 National Final of the Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition took place, further elevating the occasion by highlighting Finland’s emerging culinary talent. The Final not only showcased technical skill but also reflected the Chaîne’s mission to encourage the next generation of gastronomic professionals.

A total of 97 guests gathered for this prestigious celebration, a testament to the strong sense of community and shared passion for gastronomy that the Chaîne fosters across Finland and beyond.

Following the formal ceremony, guests were treated to an exquisite Gala Dinner in the hotel’s acclaimed Sky Kitchen & View restaurant. Overlooking the midnight sun-kissed forests of Lapland, the setting alone was unforgettable - but it was the cuisine that truly elevated the evening. The menu, crafted by Maître Rôtisseur Tero Mäntykangas, reflected both refinement and innovation, with local ingredients used to magnificent effect.

The kitchen and service teams executed the dinner with flawless precision and professionalism. Their exceptional efforts did not go unnoticed; Bailli Délégué Johanna Hornborg-Ojala, who is a Member of the Conseil Magistral, and Conseiller Culinaire Esa Koppelo expressed heartfelt thanks to the entire hotel staff, recognising their dedication, talent, and contribution to the evening’s success.

As the Inducting Officer, it was an honour and privilege to officiate such a distinguished ceremony in Rovaniemi. The atmosphere was one of true celebration, and the spirit of the Chaîne was felt in every detail - from the heartfelt speeches to the final toast.

This Chapitre will long be remembered not only for its elegance and warmth but also for its demonstration of what the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs represents: tradition, excellence, and the joy of sharing exceptional culinary experiences.
