Members and guests enjoyed our Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD) “Grand Cru” wine event at the Terrace Private Dining Room, Emporium Hotel, South Bank.

Our Professionnel du Vin, Toby Parker from Cru Wines, led us through the tasting of eight wines from some of the world’s most prestigious designated vineyards, namely the “Grosses Gewächs” (“Grand Cru”) vineyards of Germany.

On arrival, we enjoyed Daniel Twardowski Non-vintage ‘Ultra Brut’ Pinot Noir from the Mosel Valley.

Light food was served with each flight of wines.

Toby generously shared a French Grand Cru from his own cellar, a 2011 Michel Magnien Clos Saint-Denis.

Another great night, with the “stayers” spilling onto the hotel’s outside deck to enjoy the glittering, gorgeous night-time Brisbane skyline.
