Focusing on honest, authentic luxury
" The legendary hotel has been making history for more than 110 years "

The luxurious five-star superior Gstaad Palace hotel is owned by the third generation of the Scherz family and is therefore one of Europe’s last family-run hotels where VIPs experience a first-class culture of hospitality.

The legendary hotel has been making history for more than 110 years, with grandfather Ernst Scherz, father Ernst Andrea Scherz and son, the current owner and general manager, Andrea Scherz all making their own mark along the way.

The Gstaad Palace is one of the last few hotels in Switzerland to be family owned - and it shines through in the way the establishment is managed. The slogan ‘It’s not a fairy tale, it’s real’ captures the spirit of the hotel, with the Gstaad Palace team and the Scherz family working hard to live up to that vision every single day.

The 90 rooms and suites at the seasonal hotel with its exceptional panorama over the Bernese Oberland skilfully combine contemporary glamour with alpine cosiness. Gstaad’s landmark serves Swiss, Italian and international specialities and gourmet cuisine awarded with 16 Gault Millau points in its five restaurants.

The hotel’s own GreenGo nightclub is famous for its legendary parties and illustrious clientele. Guests’ senses are pampered in the 1,800 square metre Palace Spa. ‘PISCINE’, the outdoor Olympic-sized swimming pool, and four tennis courts are available in summer.

With the Walig Hut, an alpine hut dating back to 1783 at 1700 metres above sea level, Gstaad Palace has a unique refuge where guests can experience the real luxury of the Saanenland, the peace, tranquillity, and authenticity up close.

Franz Faeh, Conseiller Culinaire of the Bailliage of Switzerland, is Culinary Director of Gstaad Palace. [Ed. see separate article published on the Chaîne News Online website] He successfully leads a team of 55 professionals through maintaining a deliberately different leadership style. It is said that a raised eyebrow is enough from this amiable “King of the Palace Kitchen” who thrives on challenge as he gets bored otherwise, exudes warmth and has a dry sense of humour.

The Gstaad Palace is a member of the The Leading Hotels of the World. Its summer season this year is from June 21st to September 8th, the winter season will be from December 13th to March 9th.
