Introducing the new Bailli Délégué

" Ravi brings a dynamic vision for the future of the Chaîne in Vietnam "

The National Bailliage of Vietnam proudly announces the official appointment of Ravi Chunilal as Bailli Délégué. His official induction took place on June 7, 2025, at the International Grand Chapitre in Paris, marking a key milestone in the growing global presence of the Bailliage of Vietnam.

As Bailli Délégué, Ravi will lead the strategic development of the Chaîne in Vietnam and represent the country on the international stage whilst upholding its traditions of excellence in gastronomy and hospitality.

A global background and business leadership
Born in 1981 in Hong Kong to a family of merchants from India, Ravi Chunilal comes from a dynamic business family with journey tracing from Fiji to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China and eventually Vietnam.

Educated at the Taipei American School and Northeastern University in Boston, Ravi then joined the family business, playing a key role in its transition from textile trading to garment manufacturing. He leads the group today as the Managing Director, with over 1,000 employees in five locations.

Ravi has resided in Hanoi since 2016, when his business invested in a manufacturing facility in Nam Dinh province.

A deep connection with the Chaîne
Ravi Chunilal was introduced to the Chaîne in 2012 whilst living in Shanghai, where his passion for fine dining led him to the organization through some friends. He was immediately drawn to its refined yet welcoming spirit. This is where he met Bailli Délégué Allen Wong, who is a Member of the Conseil d’Administration. Allen played a pivotal role in mentoring Ravi Chunilal preparing him for the challenges and complexities from his transition as Chevalier to his latest role as Bailli Délégué of Vietnam.

A vision for the Chaîne in Vietnam
Since transferring his membership to Vietnam in 2016, Ravi Chunilal has been an active contributor to the Bailliage. He recently took on the role of Custodian of the National Bailliage and is leading initiatives in event planning, member engagement, and hospitality partnerships.

Now as Bailli Délégué, Ravi brings a dynamic vision for the future of the Chaîne in Vietnam. His focus includes expanding membership particularly among young professionals, curating more immersive culinary experiences, and promoting Vietnam’s rich gastronomic heritage internationally.

This new Bailli Délégué is committed to strengthening the organization’s structure and presence nationwide, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and beyond.

We look forward to a new chapter of growth and vibrancy under his leadership.

Vive la Chaîne!
