The 2026 Grand Chapitre of Austria in Salzburg offered its participants three memorable days filled with culture, friendship, hospitality, and outstanding gastronomy.

This international event with members and guests from over 10 countries and four continents began with a scenic city tour aboard a specially built amphibious vehicle designed exclusively for Salzburg. It’s one of a kind worldwide which travels both on the city streets and the River Salzach. The tour concluded at Schloss Hellbrunn, where guests visited the world-famous historic Trick Fountains followed by an aperitif which provided an ideal opportunity for international reunions and new encounters.

In the evening, guests enjoyed a festive dinner at the Schlossrestaurant Hellbrunn. A summer-inspired menu with carefully selected wine pairings, followed by a dessert buffet served at the historic Prince-Archbishop’s Table amidst the Trick Fountains, created a memorable conclusion to the first day.

The morning of the second day was at leisure to explore Salzburg’s Old Town, visit local attractions, or enjoy shopping. In the afternoon, participants attended an exclusive organ concert in the Franciscan Church. This was followed by a guided tour of the DomQuartier, including magnificent views over the historic city centre and the ongoing rehearsals for Jedermann.

In the evening, the group divided between the Michelin-starred, four-toque-awarded Restaurant Esszimmer and the three-toque-awarded Restaurant Brunnauer. Following an aperitif, guests enjoyed an exceptional five-course menu prepared by Grand Officier Maître Rôtisseur Andreas Kaiblinger and Maître Rôtisseur Richard Brunnauer, accompanied by outstanding wine pairings and warm hospitality. The day emphasised the harmonious connection between culture, history and fine cuisine.

The highlight of the weekend was the solemn Induction Ceremony on Saturday. It was held in the magnificent Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, one of Salzburg’s most prestigious historical landmarks. Built in 1606 by Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich for his beloved Salome Alt, today it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site being an outstanding example of Baroque architecture.

Following a classical Mozart concert, Philip Evins, Member of the Conseil Magistral and Bailli Délégué of Great Britain presided over the Induction Ceremony. More than 80 inductions and promotions were performed. Philip was supported by three members of the International Conseil d’Administration: Bertrand de Boutray of the United States, Jörg Böckeler of Germany and Norbert Simon of Austria.

Afterwards, guests gathered for a Champagne reception with Veuve Clicquot Reserve Cuvée, oysters and other delicacies in the courtyard of the Imlauer Hotel Pitter before proceeding to the festive Gala Dinner at the Imlauer Sky Restaurant. Against the spectacular backdrop of Salzburg, the kitchen team led by Maître Rôtisseur Dominik Münch presented an exquisite six-course menu accompanied by outstanding wines.

The Grand Chapitre concluded with an unforgettable evening reflecting the values of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs: friendship, tradition, excellence, and a shared passion for fine dining.

Salzburg provided the perfect setting for lasting memories, new friendships, and inspiring international fellowship.
