For many years, our Conseiller Culinaire, Jean-Baptiste Thomaes, then owner of the Michelin 2-star Château du Mylord, hosted the celebrated annual Gala Gastronomic Weekend for the Chaîne.

His idea was simple yet brilliant: offer an exceptional gourmet experience at a reduced price for both Chaîne members and Mylord guest - thanks in part to the generous contributions from our suppliers.

A proportion of each guest’s fee (10€) went directly to supporting the Bailliage’s Jeunes Chef Rôtisseurs and Jeunes Sommeliers competitions thus nurturing the next generation of gastronomic talent.

Now, our new young Maître Rôtisseur Martin Simonart, is continuing this beautiful tradition on the same terms.*

* In June 2023, a client of the Château du Mylord offered Martin and Nuria Simonart to take over the establishment which has been a landmark for foodies for many years. After reflection, they accepted, seeing this project as the culmination of their career. They collaborated with Lisbeth and Jean-Baptiste Thomaes and their staff, determined to perpetuate the excellence of this institution in the beautiful Collines region.
