Celebrating Christmas at Mirandus
" All in all it was a perfect .. dinner, with joy, friendship and even crackers! "

Mirandus Restaurant in the Boutique Hotel Vivenda Miranda in Porto de Mós, near Lagos, was the beautiful venue for the black-tie Christmas dinner of the Bailliage of Algarve.

After a glass of Campolargo Brut accompanied by tempura prawns in the cosy bar, dinner was served in the hotel’s main restaurant overlooking the ocean.

Chef Christoph Voigt, an old friend of the Chaîne, proposed a special menu for our festive evening.

The amuse-bouche was tuna tartare on avocado cream served with a glass of white Barranco Longo from the Algarve.

It was followed by a delicious carrot and orange cream soup with ginger perfectly matched by a delicate rosé from Sangiovese grape made by Herdade Portocarro near Setubal.

For the main course, pink-roasted duck breast on a ragout of apple and mushrooms with corn tart and Madeira wine foam was much enjoyed. Again it was perfectly matched this time with a red wine from the Conceito winery in the Douro region.

We finished on carob tart with raspberry puree and vanilla ice cream served with Quinta das Carvalhas LBV Port.

Compliments to Chef Christoph, Sommelier Guilherme Pierce and Maître d’ Stefano Silvestre for a memorable event, and of course to the staff of the Boutique Hotel Vivenda Miranda for their great service.

All in all it was a perfect Christmas celebration dinner, with joy, friendship and even crackers!
