Chaîne friends came from all over Germany to our beautiful East Frisian Island of Juist travelling by ferry or plane in the most wonderful weather.

At noon on Friday 7th, we met for a carriage ride across the island. There are no cars and we quickly succumbed to the special charm of the island. After the tour we enjoyed a drink overlooking a view of the beautiful, seemingly endless beach.

In the evening, Maître Hotelier Christian Schlemm and Deputy Director Tristan Engelhardt from the Hotel Atlantic welcomed us in the bar with fantastic finger food. Afterwards we were spoilt in the restaurant with a most enjoyable four-course menu, for which we thanked the perfect service and kitchen teams with certificates.

On Saturday afternoon we met for a champagne reception and finger food in Hummer Köbes.

After a walk on the beach, we were ready for dinner. Maître Restaurateur Maik Strohm and Maître Rôtisseur Jens Ramke, who many of us already know from Helgoland, and their teams welcomed us warmly with an outstanding lobster menu. It began with a casserole of oysters and continued with spiced lobster and lobster Thermidor.

The menu was accompanied by well-chosen wines. A culinary highlight which everyone loved. After honouring both kitchen and service teams and presenting guest gifts, the evening ended at the bar in the Hummer Köbes.

It was a great weekend in Juist. We are already looking forward to the next events.
