The Hotel Bareiss and its three-star gourmet restaurant have been among the best culinary addresses in the world for many years. What could be more sublime than beginning 2023 in such a setting? And even more!

“The Chaîne and its members have contributed to establishing gourmandise in Germany. That is the special charm of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs”, declared Hermann Bareiss to the 34 members and guests during the welcome reception.

This successful hotelier has accompanied the Chaîne on this path since 1971 and supported it to the best of his ability. After events being cancelled in previous years due to COVID-19, the New Year's reception on January 8th was the first opportunity for the Bailliage to honour Hermann for his tireless commitment.

Bailli Joachim Schramm conferred the Grand Officer Commandeur Award on Herman and Vice-Argentier Markus Gerspacher presented a large silver trophy for the 50th anniversary on behalf of the Bailliage of Baden-Württemberg.

Chaîne members took an even bigger treasure home with them. Namely …
- culinary memories of “mignardises” from the apéro-étagère
- unusual amuse-bouche creations
- flamed scallop with Imperial caviar
- ideas about venison that Chef Claus-Peter Lumpp and his team conjured up.

Sommelier Teoman Mezda and his team rounded off the culinary delights with an international selection of wines including a special discovery from Lebanon. The service was and remains exceptional at the Hotel Bareiss and its restaurants.

They were all thanked with gifts and certificates.
