Fast cars, slow lunch!
" a Sunday amongst hills of amazing beauty, works of contemporary art, sports and vintage cars "
Imagine finding yourself on a Sunday amongst hills of amazing beauty, works of contemporary art, sports and vintage cars with a table ready to welcome you to the flavours of the area.
This was the “magic formula” that made possible the organisation of this special day.
Emilio Re Rebaudengo, Bailli of Alba Langhe Roero, was very much involved in the planning of this memorable event to which he invited Bailliage members. The programme and attention to detail gave life to a moment of sophisticated sharing with a “retro” theme.
Our arrival in the village of Guarene for breakfast was accompanied by a visit to the exhibition of young Italian artists set up in Palazzo Re Rebaudengo which hosts the prestigious Patrizia Sandretto Foundation.
Many vintage cars were present for the first edition of “Fast Cars and Slow Lunch”. It took place in front of the 18th-century residence of this beautiful village.
Sports cars and vintage cars, bright colours and roaring engines were evident on the hour-long tour between the Nebbiolo vineyards and the gentle nature of Langhe and Roero. It was the perfect opportunity to rediscover the territory, among the fresh June colours of June and arrive together at the Osteria Arborina.
The restaurant has reinterpreted the architectural style of the Langhe in a contemporary key. It has enhanced the panorama by offering a large terrace, covered if necessary. Here to rediscover the tradition, focusing everything on an impeccable service and the highest quality of fresh ingredients. The menu included veal with tuna sauce, tajarin, beef with pine nuts and raisins, with tiramisu to finish!
The choice of wines fell on a Timorasso di Derthona Monlià 2020 and a Nebbiolo Prunotto 2019. A sumptuous accompaniment for our guests between brilliant conversations and landscapes.
