On October 1st Grand Officer Maître Restaurateur Jörg Arnold was appointed General Manager of The Chedi Andermatt. In this prestigious role he is heading up the Andermatt Swiss Alps Group’s hotels overseeing growth and its development into a prime Alpine location.

Together with The Chedi Andermatt Jörg will have responsibility for Radisson Blu Reussen and Andermatt Alpine Apartments with a third hotel coming online 2027/28. Opportunities for development on the international market abound. The Group also has an 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course and the Andermatt Concert Hall.

A clear commitment to an intact environment and a sustainable future that will enable coming generations to have an extraordinary home are central for the Group.

Jörg Arnold, born in 1960, originates from the Swiss canton of Uri. With more than 35 years of experience in the international tourism and hotel business, both in strategic and operational management, this latest career move is perfect.

Jörg’s career portfolio over the past 22 years includes:
- General Manager Hotel Storchen in Zurich since 2006
- General Manager of the 5* Widder in Zurich
- General Manager of Alex in Thalwil

His contribution to the industry has been through the following:
- Management Board member of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL)
- HotellerieSuisse Association Management member
- Vice President of Zürich Tourismus
- Executive Board member of Schweiz Tourismus.

The Chedi Andermatt, a 5-star deluxe hotel was designed by renowned architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects, opened in 2013 to reveal a perfect fusion of authentic Swiss Alpine chic and Asian style. The perfect challenge for Jörg as it celebrates its 10th anniversary and a decade of success to see how he can take that success to the next level over the coming 10 years.
