Maître Hôtelier Luca Virgilio became General Manager of The Dorchester in January 2022.

As well as overseeing operations and strategies for the iconic 250-bedroom hotel on Park Lane, from the outset a significant element of his responsibilities has been the management of a comprehensive renovation of The Dorchester, a programme which commenced in February 2022.

Italian-born Luca joined the hotel from the Hotel Eden in Rome (also a Dorchester Collection* establishment) where he was General Manager since 2014. During this time he oversaw the refurbishment of the hotel which led to it arguably becoming Rome's most luxurious hotel.

Luca is a graduate of one of the world’s leading hospitality schools, namely Les Roches in Bluche, Switzerland. His career has seen him in management roles in Switzerland, Monte-Carlo, Rome and London, amassing many accolades for the hotels under his direction. In 2021, Luca himself received recognition as Best Italian Hotelier.

Undeniably British, impeccably stylish, The Dorchester will always be the destination for those who make the world turn. By the way, the name dates from 1792 when the Earl of Dorchester bought a house on the exact spot where the hotel now stands. His house became known as ‘Dorchester House’, which explains from where The Dorchester got its name when opening in 1931.

The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs has a long-standing relationship with The Dorchester given not only events held there by the Bailliage of Great Britain, but also for the traditional hosting of the November meeting of the Conseil d’Administration.
