Hotel Amtshaus welcomes its guests in the heart of the historic old town of Freinsheim. Eighteen double rooms and two single rooms invite you to spend a short break in the Pfalz in the former seat of the “Kurpfälzische Amtsschreiber” (English: Pfalz administrator).

In the rooms of the former Bel Étage of the mansion, two conference rooms are set up. Here, too, the historical ambiance and modern amenities blend, providing meetings and workshops with a special setting.

Hosts Sybille and Swen Bultmann (who is an Officier Maître Rôtisseur in the Chaîne) took over the property in 2021. The couple continue the story of their restaurant Atable, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Atable (from the French “À table”, ie. take your seats) is an invitation for guests to take a seat and enjoy. Swen’s cooking is inspired by French classics, often using products from the area local to Freinsheim and from nearby France. Wine enthusiasts will be delighted by the excellently curated wine cellar. Sommelier Sybille has put together a wine list with nearly 500 selections, where the Pfalz and France take centre stage.

The hotel's garden along the city wall is a true gem and invites you to linger and relax. Hotel guests and restaurant visitors enjoy the delightful ambiance of the courtyard in the summer. Framed by chestnut and fig trees and surrounded by historic buildings, it is a charming place.

After several junior positions across Germany during which he developed his undoubted kitchen skills, Swen Bultmann was appointed Head Chef at Villa Leonhart in Königswinter on the River Rhine near Bonn. From 2013 to 2020, together with Sybille, he ran his own establishment, namely the Restaurant Atable in Ludwigshafen, a concept which was brought to the Hotel Amtshaus when he and his wife took over the property in 2021.

Sybille Bultmann came in Third Place in the “Best German Sommelier” Competition 2005. In addition, she was awarded a special prize by the “Sommelier Union Deutschland” for the best wine service. She was Sommelier and Restaurant Manager at Villa Leonhart where she met her husband, Swen.
