Increasing the visibility for quality and expertise

On World Chaîne Day the National Bailliage published an annual list of Finnish restaurants which hold the Chaîne Professionals plaque.

The publication date on World Chaîne Day was chosen as it is the occasion when classic gastronomy and the preservation of food culture are celebrated around the world.

At the same time, the Bailliage has renewed its Professionals plaque system. Those holding the award will be audited annually using increasingly uniform criteria. The criteria have been updated to meet modern requirements and at the same time, the National Bailliage through its local Bailliages across the country is intensifying cooperation with restaurants holding the prestigious Chaîne plaque.

There are currently around 80 restaurants in Finland which have been awarded the Chaîne plaque. Their quality and expertise are now being highlighted more prominently than before. The goal is to increase the visibility of both these favoured restaurants and the entire gastronomic culture in Finland.

“Food trends come and go, but classic gastronomy remains. Well-made food pleases all the senses: it tastes and looks good and is backed by passion and professionalism. We want to highlight restaurants that cherish the skills of classic cuisine and the art of serving,” said Johanna Hornborg-Ojala, Bailli Délégué of Finland and a Member of the Conseil Magistral.

Chargée de Presse Niki Malmros added, “Every restaurant with a plaque deserves to be seen and tasted. There are great restaurants and wonderful professionals all over Finland who deserve to be much more visible. In addition, they often use regional, high-quality and seasonal ingredients, thus putting local food culture on a plate. Finland is a wonderful food tourism destination for both domestic and international tourists.”

The Chaine des Rôtisseurs Professional Members plaque is not a fine dining label nor a symbol of a bistro restaurant. It is more of a badge of quality and a restaurant that is among the best in its category. What matters is uncompromising quality, genuine professional passion and a love for good food – whether it is a value dinner or a casual lunch experience.
