On the shores of Lake Ossiach, a blacksmith’s shop was built over 1,000 years ago with the construction of a monastery and a monastery church. People still make a pilgrimage there today, those who are looking for the special, extraordinary, culinary delights of the fish restaurant “Stiftsschmiede” at Ossiach.
This location was chosen by by the Bailli Provincial of Carinthia, Gerhard Satran, for the celebration of World Chaîne Day 2025.
Bailli Délégué Norbert Simon (who is a Member of the Conseil d’Administration and the Conseil Magistral), Bailli of Carinthia Peter Kreibich and Franco Venturoso, Bailli Provincial of Udine-Friuli-Venezia-Giulia with more than 70 members and friends of the Chaîne experienced a firework display of pleasure in a class of its own.
The menu began on the lakeside terrace with homemade air-dried raw ham followed by salmon trout, fish soup and lake trout. The highlight of the day was a saddle of veal roasted on a spit over an open fire on the terrace during the event.
With many new impressions, acquaintances and beautiful memories, this event ended with a comforting inner warmth for all the participants.
