Recognising the continuance of proud traditions

" In recognition of Sølyst's proud traditions and Henrik's personal commitment, the Bailliage's National Board awarded him the Medal of Merit "

During the National Bailliage’s 2024 Christmas party at Sølyst, on behalf of the National Board, Officier Maître Rôtisseur Henrik Willert Nielsen was presented with the Bailliage of Denmark’s Medal of Merit by Bailli Délégué Jørgen Krenk, who is a Member of the Conseil Magistral.

The current Director of Sølyst, Henrik has continued the proud traditions of the place with his skilled leadership and innovative mindset. First as an exceptional chef and later as a visionary director, he has set new standards.

Henrik has received the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs with warmth and professionalism, while at the same time raising the professional bar by educating young talents with great care and expertise. In addition, he has made admirable efforts to create opportunities for vulnerable and marginalized groups, whom he has invited into a dynamic and exciting industry.

Through his extensive involvement in the professional committee for gastronomy education in Denmark, his roles as censor and acting master, and his active participation in many respected committees and commissions, both locally and regionally, Henrik has made a significant contribution. He has impressively helped to position Sølyst as one of the leading training places for several of our education programmes, including the chef and waiter education.

In recognition of Sølyst’s proud traditions and Henrik’s personal commitment, the Bailliage’s National Board awarded him the Medal of Merit. It was given for his long-standing and valuable contribution to the development of the profession and for his work in preserving and further developing our traditions in accordance with the Chaîne’s long-standing and honoured heritage.

About Sølyst
Sølyst is a former country house located just near the Øresund coast in Klampenborg on the northern edge of Copenhagen. It now houses the Royal Copenhagen Shooting Society but the property also serves as a venue for parties, receptions, meetings and conferences with attendances from 20 to 180 people.

Sølyst is a unique house with stunning sea views, but it is much more than that. It is the setting for a team of people who are passionate about personal service. This means that they are all dedicated to making the whole experience - before, during and after an event - as relaxed, perfect and unforgettable as possible.
