National Bailliage's Golden Jubilee celebration
" This was not merely a chapter in our history, but a celebration of who we are. A family bound by passion for gastronomy, fellowship, and heritage "
Singapore marked its Golden Jubilee with a four-day Grand Chapitre that embodied the very essence of the Chaîne: heritage, gastronomy, and fellowship. From the pageantry at the Singapore Polo Club to the solemn Induction Ceremony at The Fullerton and the joyous farewell at Palm Beach, each moment reflected our traditions while celebrating the vitality of today’s fraternity.
Nearly 200 members and guests were present, including over 80 from overseas and dignitaries from 13 countries. Presided over by President Yam Atallah and hosted by Bailli Délégué Hoong Eng (who is a Member of the Conseil Magistral), this was the largest, most international Chapitre ever held in Singapore. A milestone in our history!
The commemorative brochure and specially designed pins offered more than memories. They articulated a greater message: that the past is our foundation, the present our celebration, and the future our promise.
Reflections: Past, Present, and Future
The brochure captured the Bailliage’s history, from its incorporation in 1975 to today’s flourishing chapter. The programme, souvenirs, and commemorative pins became tangible heirlooms, connecting generations. The honouring of past Bailli Délégués recognised the shoulders upon which today’s leadership stands, while Fil Juntereal’s greeting reminded all of the Bailliage’s beginnings.
This Jubilee was not only a celebration of the present but also a promise for the future. As Bailli Délégué Hoong Eng said in closing: “This was not merely a chapter in our history, but a celebration of who we are. A family bound by passion for gastronomy, fellowship, and heritage.”
Vive la Chaîne!
