" We have designed a long weekend of fine dining and excursions "
Chères Consœurs, Chers Confrères,
As lovers of gastronomy, good food and delicious wines, the Bailliage of Netherlands invites you to our Grand Chapitre 2026 in the coastal area of the Netherlands.
We have designed a long weekend of fine dining and excursions in the Randstad. The theme is “Landscape and history”. Together we will explore the coast and the vast landscape behind it. Its lakes and polders give a broader impression of the bustling Randstad which is the beating heart of the Netherlands. We will visit The Hague and delve into the city’s historical ties with the Dutch East Indies.
May 29th: In the afternoon we will visit Gouda and discover why the town gave its name to the worldwide Gouda cheese. The welcome dinner at Restaurant Ter:Govw is along a canal in the historic city centre.
May 30th: A boat trip through the polders and lakes in the ‘green heart’ of the Netherlands, with luncheon in Restaurant Plantage 87 in Oude Wetering. You’ll realise that that level of the land is lower than the water level! Back in Noordwijk where the Induction Ceremony and Gala Dinner will be held in the 5-star Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin.
May 31st: Visit to The Hague, seat of the Netherlands Government followed by the Museum Sophiahof. We will learn about the historical link between The Hague and our former colony, the Dutch East Indies which is now the Republic of Indonesia. Farewell lunch will be a traditional Indonesian Rijsttafel.
