As is their custom, Chaîne members all over Finland, the acknowledged “mother country” of World Chaîne Day, enthusiastically celebrated the special occasion in the annual calendar of events for the Confrérie.

Finland is an outstanding culinary travel destination. Nearly 90 restaurants and 20 delicatessen shops across the country have retained the Chaîne Professionals plaque. The updated list has now been published on the Bailliage of Finland website: rotisseurs.fi  [NB. Available in Finnish only]

When you would like a reliable choice in Finland, it’s worth looking for the Chaîne Professionals plaque given that it is a recognised mark of quality that signifies consistent excellence in both food and service.

In Finland, the Professionals plaque is not a just fine dining label, but rather a sign of a high-quality restaurant that ranks among the best in its category whether it’s an elegant dinner or a relaxed lunch experience. Earning the plaque comes from having a team of passionate professionals in both the kitchen and the dining room. The plaque is awarded, and can only be retained, if quality remains consistently high.

The National Bailliage renewed its plaque system last year and launched regular collaborative reviews and discussions with restaurants. In Finland, there are 11 local Bailliages which preserve and develop regional food culture and classical gastronomic traditions. The goal is to increase visibility for the entire gastronomic culture in the country and make it easier for both locals and visitors to discover high-quality establishments across the country.

The concept of World Chaîne Day has always been as a medium for thanking all professional members for being part of the Chaîne community. For amateur members around the country, it was a great day to make a reservation, whether at a familiar or a newly plaque-awarded restaurant or to visit a delicatessen.

From the postings to the World Chaîne Day Social Media Wall, it was clear that Professional members across the country made a tremendous effort to entice their amateur confrères to buy top-quality produce from delicatessens and to dine out in restaurants often with a special menu to enjoy.
