The Chaîne is arriving in another country!
" The emergent National Bailliage of Ghana is being led by John Maddison "
Ghana is a country in West Africa, situated with the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean to the south, and shares borders with Côte d'Ivoire to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, and Togo to the east.
Since independence in 1960, Ghana has been devoted to ideals of nonalignment and is a founding member of the Non-Aligned Movement. Ghana is an active member of the United Nations and the African Union. Some of the country’s diplomats and politicians hold positions in international organisations, including former Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan.
The emergent National Bailliage of Ghana is being led by John Maddison. His career began in 1999 with Protea Hotels in Johannesburg, South Africa. Eager for international exposure he joined the Al Habtoor Hospitality Group in Dubai, eventually becoming Group Director for Food and Beverage - a rapid rise from a junior Food and Beverage position!
John then moved to Thailand as his expertise had attracted Dusit Hotels and Resorts. However, in 2004, he returned to South Africa as Deputy General Manager of the Southern Sun Hotels’ Palazzo Inter-Continental Hotel Montecasino. His tenure focused on opening new properties, task force projects and fostering young talent in the group.
In 2016, John transitioned to Accra, as General Manager for Oak Plaza Hotels. In 2017, he founded Centerpoint Hospitality which has since become a leading advisory and management firm working with the Ghana Tourism Authority, World Bank and prominent local and international brands.
John is actively pioneering the establishment of an international hotel and culinary school in Ghana with the mission to significantly raise industry standards and nurture the next generation of professionals.
The outline of the programme for the inaugural Chapitre is:
- Saturday, October 31st: Induction Ceremony and Gala Dinner at the residence in Accra of the Ambassador of France.
- Sunday, November 1st: Traditional Ghanaian culinary dining experience to celebrate the country’s rich culinary heritage, along with a historical and heritage excursion for our visitors.
Confirmed details and how to book will be published in due course.
