Tunisia Grand Chapitre

Bailliage of Tunisia
Gammarth, April 18-20, 2019

Report on the Bailliage's 8th major event
" Participants visited the Medina, the city's historic centre, and were captivated by its beauty and charm "

The weekend began on the Friday with a programme of cultural and tourist activities, starting with a trip to the National Bardo Museum, a real jewel in Tunisia’s heritage crown, housed in a former 19th century beylical palace and which tells the story of one of the world’s most beautiful mosaics through its collections.

Participants visited the Medina, the city’s historic centre, and were captivated by its beauty and charm.

Lunch at the “El Ali” Restaurant, in a building dating back more than four centuries and recognised as one of the capital’s great monuments, took us on a cultural and gastronomic journey through time. All the guests had the opportunity to appreciate and savour dishes that had been given some traditional, authentic touches, lovingly prepared by the Chef to enchant our gourmet palates.

The cherry on the cake of the late afternoon of Saturday 20th was the beautiful weather, with a light breeze and a magnificent sunset reflected in a turquoise sea.

The Gala Induction evening was presided over by Benoît Fragnière, Member of the Conseil d’Administration, who had come especially from Switzerland for this event, and Ezzedine Chaieb, Bailli Délégué of Tunisia.

If you add to the mix the splendid Mövenpick Hotel overlooking the Bay of Gammarth, it is not surprising that this evening turned into a wonderfully festive experience, filled with memorable moments dedicated to sharing and friendship, entirely in keeping with the spirit of the Chaîne.

The Bailliage’s 8th Grand Chapitre finished on Sunday after brunch.
