Vietnam Dinner

Bailliage of Vietnam
Hanoi, July 2, 2021

Effortless amusement
" another wonderful event in the history of the Bailliage "

The Bailliage hosted a dinner at LABRI an Oriental Neo Bistro in the central Hai Ba Trung District of Hanoi.

What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘shelter’ (French = l’abri)?

It is defined as ‘a basic architectural structure or building that provides protection from the local environment. Having a place of shelter, of safety and of retreat, i.e. a home, is commonly considered a fundamental physiological human need, the foundation from which to develop higher human motivations.’

With the idea of a restaurant that could bring the cosiness of a ‘shelter’ to customers, an old building in the centre of Hanoi was restored to house LABRI.

Patrons are treated to a casual, friendly, inexpensive dining experience. Each of the dishes is a careful curation of Asian flavours in perfect union. The regularly rotating menu of immaculate, market-driven dishes is built around the essence of Korea, Japan and Vietnam with a hint of French presentation.

We were welcomed with perfectly-chilled glasses of Tommasi Filodora NV Prosecco accompanied by avocado prosciutto and Nori salmon.

Our dinner was themed “effortless amusement”. The brilliantly-executed, seven-course menu was delivered by Chef Joon Hyuk Chi, Maître Rôtisseur. Wine pairings were courtesy of Professionnel du Vin Jeremie Courivault of The Warehouse.
