MA-Urla is one of two Urla restaurants owned by Osman Sezener, the Bailliage’s Vice-Conseiller Culinaire, the other being OD Urla. The names come respectively from Marine Urla and Odun Urla. Odun is the Turkish word for a wooden log. The dishes served in OD Urla are cooked in ovens burning logs.

MA-Urla was the setting for the first dinner organized by the Bailliage since April 2019.

One hundred lucky members and guests joined this open-air dinner seated under olive trees in a beautiful setting.

The evening started with a reception at which Champagne Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial was served from magnums.

After the reception Bailli Bülent Akgerman opened the event by welcoming the guests from the other local Bailliages in Turkey, as well as members from the Bailliage of Croatia. He expressed his gratitude that Yves Léon, Bailli Délégué of Turkey, together with his wife Nurcan, were also able to join us.

After dinner Bailli Bülent Akgerman and his Council members present thanked owner Osman Sezener as well as the kitchen and the service brigades for a wonderfully executed dinner.

Yves Léon, Bailli Délégué of Turkey closed the evening by thanking both the Bailliage of Izmir and attending guests. He then presented Osman Sezener with the Professionals plaque of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
