" perfectly-roasted goose which honoured our Chaîne tradition "

Our first festive Christmas evening was held in between the Hun River and Shen Shui Bay Park at The KHOS Shenyang’s Kao Grill House.

Pre-dinner cocktails were served at the restaurant’s bar. Alluring velvet and leather clad chairs outlined the impressive wooden bar making a warm and cosy setting to compliment the season’s theme. Greetings and chatter of camaraderie resounded in the room with a light-hearted assessment of each other’s “Quirky Christmas Sweaters” that accented the occasion.

We toasted merrily with Champagne Duval Leroy Brut Reserve and nibbled on the teasing chargrilled pork neck, black garlic skewers, and Ebi shrimp tartare.

When we were seated Bailli Carl Duggan welcomed members and their guests to this final event of 2021. He introduced Executive Chef Alessandro Martinelli who presented his menu promising a satisfying gourmet festive experience. Beautifully suited wines and a sake to complement the dishes were introduced.

First course: a colourful refreshing lobster salad, followed by Chef's homemade rustic buckwheat pasta. Similar available ingredients amalgamating Northern Italy and Shenyang created a hearty delicious dish.

Next course: mouth-watering miso codfish with a sundried tomato crust that left us desperate for the next bite!

To cleanse our palates: pomegranate Campari granite was served, showcased among winter pine sprigs and cones.

Followed by: perfectly-roasted goose which honoured our Chaîne tradition - served with soft polenta, mushrooms and Brussels sprouts.

To finish: homemade Christmas pudding that oozed with all the familiar flavours, complemented nicely with delicious Mai Tai crème anglaise.

In conclusion, it was a beautiful fun event with delicious food and beverages. Members and guests happily gave their thanks, the Certificate of Appreciation and ovations to the warm and hardworking KHOS staff along with Executive Chef Alessandro for a lasting impression and memorable experience.
