National Final held at the IB Hotel Friedberger Warte

Thirteen Chefs (12 young men and one young woman) met in Frankfurt am Main to face the challenge of the 2022 National Final of the Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition.
The National Bailliage is happy to be the host and organiser every year. And for previous events, the competition took place in the excellently-equipped kitchen of the Best Western Premier IB Hotel Friedberger Warte.
With 16 fully equipped cooking stations, the hotel has the largest event kitchen in the Frankfurt region making it a unique location for our competition in Germany. The possibilities with the hotel are unlimited making for the best conditions for the young people to prepare a three-course menu between 7am and 2pm from given ingredients.
The reward for the effort was a very special Gala evening in the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten. On the southern part of the beautiful Palmengarten, it is one of most elegant event venues in Frankfurt am Main’s Westend district.
At the Awards Ceremony, the winner of the competition was Lisa Schmidt of Restaurant LaFleur in Frankfurt am Main. Her prize was a high-quality wristwatch from Wempe. She will also represent the Bailliage of Germany at the International Final in Mexico City in October. We are keeping our fingers crossed for her!
Nikita Jaworski, of Restaurant Orangerie in Timmendorfer Strand, was the Runner-up. He received a silver-plated carving set from Robbe & Berking.
Third Place went to Mike Deuschel of the renowned Deidesheimer Hof in Dedesheim. His prize is a visit to the Tigerpalast Varieté Theatre in Frankfurt am Main.
The Chaîne Foundation Germany presented cheques for not inconsiderable amounts to each of the three placed finalists.
After these exciting moments and the subsequent Induction Ceremony, a magnificent four-course menu was served. Prepared by four renowned chefs, three of them were Chaîne members.
All in all it was a glamorous event which, as promised by Bailli Délégué Klaus Tritschler, will be repeated next year.
