“Anchovy Bandit”, being situated under a cinema, takes its name from an old Quentin Tarantino screenplay, ‘Captain Peach Fuzz, and The Anchovy Bandit’.

Like all good screenplays the story is full of twists and turns. Founded in 2018 Anchovy was a passion project, a hole-in-the-wall pizza and cocktail bar, focusing on slinging good pies and good times.

Three years later Anchovy Bandit expanded into the space next door, changing the venue’s narrative. At which point Shane Wilson joined the team as Executive Chef and co-owner as did Chaîne Alumni Chef Michael Henderson. The dynamic duo transformed the once hole-in-the-wall cocktail bar into a thriving suburban eatery retaining Anchovy Bandit’s DNA, inspired by tradition not bound by it. Soon bursting at the seams, the daytime concept of Bottega Banditio opened next door.

Why the background on Anchovy Bandit? After our AGM held in the Prospect Council Chambers, we adjourned to Anchovy Bandit for dinner. We enjoyed a diverse menu with wine and cocktails delivered by the highly regarded restaurant’s excellent team. Simply delicious!

A wonderful casual evening ensued with members once again enjoying a great occasion.
