Great result! An exclusive evening with Thai cuisine paired with Thai wines at Black Ginger was enjoyed by 32 members and guests including GranMonte’s wine makers. Special thanks to Robert Wigman for coordinating both The Slate Resort and GranMonte Wines.

During dinner, GranMonte’s winemaker Nikki Lohitnavy and her sister Mimi, talked about their family’s 25-year journey building a vineyard business in Thailand.

Initially Nikki spent eight years in Australia including in the Australian wine heartland around Adelaide. All their grapes are sourced from their estate in Khao Yai.

We tasted seven different varieties. All of which pleasantly surprised members and guests as to their taste and quality.

There were many compliments given to The Slate Resort’s staff for a typical high standard Chaîne event: great food, paired with very good wines and excellent camaraderie. Service was unobtrusive and very well organized.

Congratulations were given to Hotel Manager Manuel Mandaglio and Food and Beverage Manager Khun Pantita Chubua. Visiting Chaîne members Magnus Scherr, Member Honoraire of the Conseil Magistral from Korea, and Bailli Délégué Honoraire Alan Kam presented Certificates of Appreciation to kitchen and service staff with Robert Wigman making the presentation to The Slate Resort.
