Having wowed diners for decades in Phuket, Chef Alessandro Frau set his sights on the Thai capital. Chef Alessandro has opened his acclaimed Italian eatery Acqua in Bangkok.
Set in a beautifully renovated former home, in the shadow of the city’s most iconic shopping district, Acqua boasts a glitzy, warm-toned interior perfectly calibrated to draw Bangkok’s best and brightest.
Even better, Chef Alessandro and his kitchen have been able to pull off the same culinary pyrotechnics that first charmed diners back on Phuket.

Drawing on his Sardinian background, Chef Alessandro sent out a parade of flashy dishes showcasing the kitchen’s technical skills: fresh squid flesh julienned into tagliatelle, sweet and sour smoked eel, even a painstakingly slow-poached egg buried under a blanket of Parmesan.
Dishes were ably paired with the carefully selected wines, including an intensely floral Pala Vermentino di Sardegna and a smokey Sicilian red Casematte Faro.
