Traditional cooking in creative ways
" a wonderful cultural culinary experience "
For our first dinner of the 2022/2023 season Bailliage members and their guests were received at the residence of Her Excellency Belinda Lewis, British Ambassador to the State of Kuwait.
The beautiful garden of the residence, already an historical location and one of the oldest gardens in Kuwait, was the perfect setting for this cultural culinary experience.
Traditional British cuisine has been introduced to flavours and spices from all over the world. Impressions of different cultures found inclusion which inspired palates with interesting savours.
The Hilton Resorts’ team and Executive Chef Abdel Kader Yamout gave us exemplary presentations of the United Kingdom’s gastronomy.
Our first dish combined the famous Somerset cheddar cheese, with homemade crackers and raspberry/orange marmalade, venturing to the world-famous Scottish salmon, smoked presented with beetroot puree, horseradish, and capers.
Traditional yet creative, our Beef Wellington, deconstructed nonetheless combining all the explicit delicious components, tender beef, pastry, mushrooms, accompanied by vegetables, potatoes and mashed peas. Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream sweetened our palates at the end.
The delicious menu emphasized the essence of traditional cooking in creative ways and presentations resulting in a wonderful cultural culinary experience.
