Turkey Dinner

Bailliage of Izmir, Türkiye
Urla (Izmir), November 9, 2022

A wonderful experience at HUS winery
" To a spellbound audience Ceylan Ertörer Diaz Leon told the story of how the vineyard was started "

On November 9th Bailliage members and their guests enjoyed a dinner at HUS Winery, one of Urla's newest venues. This family winery founded in 2018, by Juan Pablo Diaz Leon and Ceylan Ertörer Diaz Leon, has a story that makes it special.

The story of HUS Wines is truly inspiring! Juan and Ceylan fulfilled a dream that had plenty of childhood memories. The couple continued the legacy of their families engaged in the winery with HUS Wines.

Growing their grapes in Urla, in the soil of Turkey’s Aegean region, HUS thinks and experiments with different wine styles, production techniques and philosophies. It's not just the grapes that are bottled, but also great excitement and creativity. Importance was given to locality, origin and the reflection of these characteristics in the wine and thus the food. The Leon duo thought, then experimented and have been very successful.

To a spellbound audience Ceylan Ertörer Diaz Leon told the story of how the vineyard was started. After which glasses were raised in memory of her late husband, Juan Pablo, who sadly passed away last year when he was just 34 years old.

Bailli Bülent Akgerman and Turkey’s Bailli Délégué Yves Léon welcomed the members who, after the traditional formalities, enjoyed the following menu prepared by Chef Tolga Kamiloğlu
