Three-day mini-cruise aboard MS Color Magic

In cooperation with the Bailliage of Oslo, the Bailliage of Vestfold organised this mini-cruise aboard Color Line’s MS Color Magic from Oslo to Kiel and back.

Built in 2007 at the Aker Yards in Turku, Finland, MS Color Magic is the largest cruise-ferry in the world with a deck capable of taking 550 cars and 1,016 cabins able to sleep 2,700 passengers.

With much anticipation members and their guests gathered prior to sailing for a light lunch on the upper deck in the “Observation Club” where the Restaurant Manager, Officier Maître Restaurateur Walther Wassertheurer, wished us a most enjoyable cruise.

A little later we returned to the “Ocean Restaurant” for a champagne tasting.  Drappier Brut, Ruinart Blanc de blancs, Bollinger Special Cuvée and Berecht et Fils brands were introduced by Sommelier David Bennerot with pertinent comments.

That evening in the Manhattan Bar we met for cocktails before a five-course dinner served in the elegant “Oceanic Restaurant”. It was a most enjoyable event which ended in the “Observation Bar” where we chatted till late.

After breakfast the next day we arrived in the pleasant German city of Kiel where shopping and sightseeing were on the menu. Back on board we departed for Oslo. The staff organized a beer tasting from four micro-breweries. We watched the ship’s tremendous show followed by a three-course dinner in the “Oceanic Restaurant”. The evening ended once again in the “Observation Bar”.

Delicious food, stunning cabins, and entertainment, the mini-cruise was described as a perfect social arrangement with many members recommending a cruise as a tradition for the future.

All the arrangements had been planned and executed by Color Magic’s apprentice staff. It was almost like an examination and we passed them with excellent results!
