Italy Dinner

Bailliage of Ravenna, Italy
Savignano sul Rubicone, February 6, 2023

It's raining truffles
" A menu dominated by intense scent of white and black truffles generously grated by 'The Lord of Truffle' "

The second dinner of the re-established Bailliage of Ravenna, themed “Black and White”, took place in the amazing Ribano Castle in Savignano sul Rubicone close to Rimini. It featured two colours: two varieties of truffle and the elegant clothes with cloak, hat and carnival masks worn by the guests.

Following the welcoming aperitif featuring “Madama Rosè” Rubicone Rosato IGT from Cantine Spalletti Colonna di Paliano, served in the castle's ancient cellars, guests from all over Italy, took their places in rooms on the upper floor in anticipation of what was to come.

The gastronomic experience designed by Guglielmo Scalise, Bailli of Ravenna, together with Bailli Honoraire of Rubicone, Alvise Fedrigo, and Chevalier Daniele Violoni began. Further wines of Cantine Spalletti Colonna di Paliano accompanied the menu.

A menu dominated by intense scent of white and black truffles generously grated by “The Lord of Truffle”, alter ego of the histrionic Daniele, a young entrepreneur dedicated to a new project called Truffle Box Experience. Daniele never uses the truffle scale. He serves it in a “truffle rain”, amusing and amazing guests 'forced' to stop him grating, completely satisfied and almost embarrassed by such opulence.

The menu and the excellent wines enhanced the aroma and taste of the truffles never covering them up. The garnishing of the dishes by Daniele was pure art, like the creation of an emotionally rich painting.

The evening, which was also attended by the Bailli Délégué Enrico Spalazzi and Bailli Délégué Honoraire Roberto Zanghi, who is a Member of the Conseil Magistral, continued with disco dancing and a free bar offered by the Bailli of Ravenna.

The “Black and White” evening is destined to be a must for the new-born Bailliage of Ravenna. We look forward to the second edition!
