" The Conrad team's spirit of challenge and passion shone "

Movies engage our senses of sight and sound, leaving the rest to the imagination. To fill the gap, the Conrad Seoul Team, led by Hotel Manager Nicola Coccia, Executive Chef Marco Lee, Events Executive Nick Choi, Director of Food and Beverage Min Lee, and Sommelier Dong Young Lee, orchestrated “A Movie Maniac’s Dream,” a feast that comprised dishes inspired by well-known movies.

Invitations, menu boards, black and red décor: every detail oozed “movies”. A photo wall was in high demand as “movie star” guests snapped photos whilst sipping aperitifs and chatting.

As you read the menu, you’ll spot the movie references. For example, food critic Anton Ego in “Ratatouille” whose perspective was changed on fine dining; American chef Julia Child whose life was transformed by the John Dory dish; palate cleanser inspired by “Bottle Shock”; Burnt was a movie - who knew; dessert straight from “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. The Conrad team’s spirit of challenge and passion shone. Skills with professionalism resulted in a successful event. Seeing the team celebrate with pride was heart-warming. That reminded us about the key role the Chaîne can play to support our host establishments.
