Good to be able to celebrate once again
" We wished the sweet night would never end "
After two years of China’s pandemic controls, the Bailliage was finally able to celebrate World Chaîne Day again. The event was held in a chic British classical style restaurant, The Dukes in the Langham Shenzhen.
When the urban sunset turned from brilliant orange to dark blue, we made our way to the restaurant. A joyful melody could be heard as the fingertips of Bailli Estella Pan tickled the ivories of the piano inside. We indulged in good food, fine wines and beautiful music all night long.
The Langham Shenzhen has always been a faithful supporter of the Bailliage. Under the leadership of Alessandro Martinelli, Executive Western Chef, his team designed an exquisite menu of the based on their heart-felt understandings of Chaîne’s love and spirit.
The menu included French oysters, seared scallops, Atlantic cod and Australian beef medallions. Everyone was impressed by the sincerity of the dishes. The menu fully demonstrated the day’s theme “Come with your heart” which we extended into “Peace with our hearts, Taste with our love”.
Of course, the wines enhanced the whole dining experience by heightening flavours, textures and qualities in the food. The combination created a totally new, superior gastronomic effect. Seated along each side of the long dining table we enjoyed the event so much.
By nine o’clock, the evening sky transitioned from dark blue to deep purple. Joyfulness continued in the room. Chatting with new and old friends, our members sipped on Armagnac and wines. We wished the sweet night would never end.
